1) My daughter has never played before, is she too old to play?

No, we have girls in each division of all skill levels, from girls that have never played before to girls that play in our competitive travel teams.

Every season we have many players in each division that are playing for the first time. Our coaches will make an effort to help each girl learn the game and get better.


2) What equipment or uniform do I need to purchase before the season starts?

For our spring season the league will provide one team uniform that includes a jersey, one set of pants and a pair of socks. In the fall season we provide only a jersey.

Each girl will need to have a batting helmet with a face mask and a fielder's glove. We recommend that she also has cleats, a bat and a fielder's mask. If you need help choosing the correct equipment for your daughter you can ask her coach.

The league offers donated equipment that has been slightly used. If you interest in more information on our donated equipment email us at


3) Can my daughter move up to play in an older division?

If a player wants to move up she will need to be evaluated and approved by the league's board. The league will only have one player evaluation per year and this is held in the beginning of January. See "Important Dates to Remember" section for evaluation date and times.


A player will not be allowed to move up unless she comes to this evaluation.


The board will decide if the player can move up on these factors:

                a) The player has the skill level to play and be safe in the older division.

                b) There are spots available in the division she is moving up to.

                c) There are enough girls in the division she is leaving that by moving up she is not hurting that division.

                d) The player has a skill set that is needed in the older division. This applies to pitchers and catchers.


4) What days will my daughter play/practice?

For our spring season, Tee ball division will have two activities per week, either two practices or a practice and a game. All other divisions will have three activities per week, normally a practice and two games. In the fall all divisions will only have two activities per week.

On week nights younger divisions (T-ball, 8U and 10U) will practice and play at 6pm. Older divisions (12U and 16U) normally will practice and play at 7:30pm.

Saturday times vary, but for the most part younger divisions play earlier in the day and older division play later in the day.

But once we start playing games there might be some exceptions. If you daughter cannot play on a certain day of the week, you can request not play on that day(s) and we will try to place her on a team that has a non conflicting schedule.


5) How long is the season?

Our spring season runs from middle of January to beginning of May. Practices start 3rd week of January and games begin 2nd or 3rd Saturday in February.

Tee Ball will play 8-10 games; other divisions will play 16 regular season games and play an intercity double elimination playoff and a single elimination Coconut Creek Playoff.

Our fall season runs from beginning of September to the end of October.

All teams will play 8-10 games. No playoffs in the fall.


6) Can I request a certain coach or for my daughter to play with her friend?

Requests should mainly be used for days of the week when a played cannot attend because she has another commitment, example: religion class, school club, etc.

All other requests have low priority. We will try to fulfill other requests as long as we can keep the teams balanced and competitive by doing so.


7) Can I manage/coach my daughter's team?

Even though we encourage every parent to volunteer we want to make clear that managing or coaching a team is a privilege not a right. Each request to manage/coach will be evaluated by the board and the board will determine if an individual can manage or coach a team.

The board has the right to reject requests based on background checks, references from other leagues, parents' feedback, coach player interactions, or any other information the board might deem important.

The board evaluates all coaches every year, based on league's surveys and parents' feedback. So, just because a person was approved on a previous season doesn't guarantee they would be allowed to coach on the next season.

If an individual is approved to manage or coach, the league will provide a coaches' shirt and will cover the background check.


8) I don't want to coach, but can I help my daughter's coach on the field?

Yes, we always welcome extra hands to help the coaches, as long as it doesn't interrupt coach's practice and teaching philosophy.

But, before anyone can go on the field with the girls they must be approved by the board and pass a background check.

The cost is $20. This will cover the background check and the approved volunteer will receive a shirt to use during practices and games.


9) I don't live in Coconut Creek, can my daughter still play in your league?

Yes, but in addition to registration cost you will need to by a Non-resident Youth Sports card from the city. For more information visit the City of Coconut Creek's website:


10) Where will we practice and play games?

All practices will be held on fields located in Coconut Creek, most will be held at Sabal Pines park, Hosford Park and Lyons Creek Middle School.

Most home games will be played at Sabal Pines Park, with some games played at Lyons Creek Middle School or Hosford Park.

We do play some neighboring cities, so some games will be played in Boca Raton, Coral Springs and Margate.
